SITUATION

• WIFI access provided in public environments is rarely open and un-authenticated

• Some countries require providers of public hotspots to authenticate users for liability reasons

COMPLICATION

• Current ways of authentication to a WIFI hotspot are cumbersome and insecure

RESOLUTION

• Utilize x.509 certificate inside beame Crypto-ID to identify both ends of the WIFI connection (client and access point)
